Things are hopping here in my world but that doesn’t stop the Mojo from searching and using some of the best web applications out there. I have been testing more than a few products here lately and will do some reviews here soon. Here is what I am working on:
Got some great video content? Babelgum will help you get it to the people that matter.
Ever wonder where the world’s largest iron statue, Vulcan, is located? Now you can.
VuVox allows you to express yourself creatively with photos/videos/music/text.
Video wowness.
Drop someone a video message, fast.
SpalshCast is all inclusive media channel presentation.
If you have used these web apps, let me know so we can share/collaborate.
So the big news today will be on Microsoft’s Windows Vista. The long awaited and needed release hits shelves and PC’s today. Are you upgrading soon? Is your computer ready for it? Make sure by downloading Microsoft’s Upgrade Advisor. It will perform a diagnostic check and determine what is compatible and what is not.
I would also suggest visiting Cybernet’s website for an excellent review with screenshots. Quite frankly, I am turning to them more than I have with TechCrunch because of their excellent news and reviews about software. Check them out and add them to your feeds!
I have written many Vista reviews in the past and someone asked me if I will go ahead and upgrade from my beta testing software. Not yet. The reason being simply money. It isn’t THAT expensive, it is just that I have other priorities right now. Rest assured, I will probably upgrade within a month and will give a full-on review with tips/tricks.

Software programs and web applications are very handy, but which ones do you use most?
Let me break it down for everyone.
- operating system
- office and document suites
- email service
- instant messenger
- media player
- RSS feed reader
- internet browser
- PC protection
- photo service
- bookmark manager
- online maps
- blog software
- widgets
- add-ons/extensions
- calendar/event manager
This is a pretty good breakdown of tools that most of us use on a daily basis. Others are frequent but not as important. If you are like me, you have more than one application for each category but have just the one that you use the most.
So in the comments section, list your faves and maybe even try to justify it a little bit. Maybe someone reading your suggestions is sitting on a fence and may lean towards it with your help.
Example: 3 OS: MS Vista on one PC for testing, WinXP Media Center, Ubuntu Linux on the laptop.
My fave OS is the WinXP media center because of its functionality as a production machine and entertainment.
Office and docs: MS Office 2007 on one PC, Open Office on another

I freely admit I was an 80’s child and absolutley loved watching MTV when it first became available in my area. Back then, cable television was just breaking out and a luxury. Are you one of the people that remembers when MTV just played music videos? *raises hand*
I can tell you when I first saw it, but not when I stopped. Probably sometime after Beavis/Butthead left the air. So imagine my surprise when I heard that MTV has just released online video blogs.
I don’t think it is because I am 34 and “uncool” anymore, but I don’t see the appeal of watching a girl explain a dance routine or a lametard begging for friends on his MTV Myspace account.
MTV used to be the source for music, culture and videos, how are they just now getting vlogs (and sucking at it, too)?
