So Tuesday night, I finally had the chance to install a full, non-Beta version of Office 2007. The installation of the software was really fast and my current documents were all safe after the conversion from MS Office 2003.
Nothing new to report on Office’s functionality that I have mentioned before except all applications in the suite have Open XML formats, design interface changes such as the new ribbon feature (bye-bye toolbars!), and are much easier to use.
Most everyone will agree that they were unable or unwilling to utilize most of the features in versions from 1997-2003, however, it would be difficult to NOT make use of the features in Office 2007. Everything is laid out beautifully and will make your documents stand out. Another annoyance, Clippy, has gone bye-bye as well!
Overall, MS Office 2007 is a much needed improvement and is well worth the money for an upgrade. I will still use my online office application Think Free.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of Office 2007 Professional and Groove 2007 while attending a Microsoft Across America presentation. This post is not sanctioned by Microsoft
