As an amateur photographer, I have a wealth of tools, including PhotoShop CS, Elements. These software tools help me make the most out of the shots for publication and sharing. For a fast fix, I turn to Picasa, or any one of the latest image tool webware like Picnik or Fauxto.
Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen says to expect this within six months, so watch out.
As much as I dig Picasa and Picnik, having a web-based editor sync with my desktop application makes my heart happy.
